Please take a moment to view our freshwater aquarium. What does this have to do with the science of weights and measures? The aquarium temperature has three heaters, keeping the water a warm and tropical 81.2° F within ± 0.25°F.... 24 hours a day, everyday. This 5000 gallon fish tank measures just over 12' x12' x 6' has 6600 lbs. of gravel and 1800 lbs. of rock for a total weight of 90,000 lbs. The aquarium is as unique as PTC Instruments and PTC Metrology.

Custom built, the 5000 gallon freshwater Aquarium utilizes four 6000 watt heaters, controlled by two RTD temperature controllers. The main filter circulates 360 gallons of water a minute. The multi stage mechanical filter with ultra violet sterilization and biological filtration keeps the water balanced for the delicate environment required by the freshwater fish from the Amazon.
